Our natural shaggy wool rugs (off-white/ivory) are luxuriously thick and made from superior New Zealand wool

They are a heavy 2000gsm quality so choose us if you want a flokati of the very best quality and superior touch.

Genuine Greek handicrafts

The size quoted is the backing of the rug. Add approx 10 cm for the fully covered area.

As with all hand-crafted carpets, the edges may not be exactly straight. This only adds to their charm.

These rugs are authentic handicrafts so some shedding of wool is inevitable and can be minimised by regular vacuuming using your machine’s nozzle attachment. Please be aware before purchase.

Luxurious to the touch

Warm and soft.

Please note that these rugs are lovely and beautifully soft but not as soft as sheepskin rugs as they are chemically treated to artificially soften the wool. This is bad for the wool and bad for the environment.

Due to the long fibres on these rugs, do not leave babies unattended on them as they may swallow any loose fibres

Cleaning and washing your flokati rug

Flokati rugs are highly resistant to dirt and stains. Cleaning flokatis is very simple although larger rugs can be a challenge and best done in the bath.

Dirt and dust do not cling to flokati wool fibres. If your rug is not very dirty, shake it outside and brush it. You can also use the nozzle end of your vacuum cleaner but do not use the rotating brush.

If more dirty, after shaking, hand-wash using the mildest of wool detergent in very small quantities, in cold or lukewarm water.

Avoid high water temperatures and chlorine bleach. Dry cleaning must be avoided as the chemicals used can destroy the natural protective surface of the wool.

After letting running water rinse the flokati for a short time, leave out to dry on a line, then brush or shake it to revive the fresh fluffiness

Washing a flokati rug properly does not damage the rug
